PONTIAC - Margaret Bricker, 90, Pontiac, formerly of rural Avon, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Asta Care Center in Pontiac.
Margaret was born March 15, 1920, in Bardolph to Ross and Nellie Crusen Swartzbaugh. She married Lyle A. Bricker in Bushnell on Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death March 12, 1991.
She is survived by one son, Alan R. Bricker of Peoria, and one daughter, Joyce E. (Mike) Ruff of Pontiac. She also is survived by two granddaughters, Michelle (Corey) Metz of Pontiac and Julie (Marc) Davies of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; along with three great-granddaughters, Ma Kayla, Sienna and Ava Metz. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Margaret was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and First Presbyterian Church of Bushnell, where she served as a deacon. She was also a secretary at Bushnell's Co-op Elevator and a bookkeeper at Farmer's & Merchants State Bank in Bushnell. She and her husband lived and farmed west of Avon for 42 years. She was a resident of the Everly House in Macomb for 16 years before moving to Asta Care Center in Pontiac, where she has resided the last 7 months.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell. Visitation will be two hours before the service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bushnell Presbyterian Church or Everly House in Macomb.
