226 | Obitary Judith Ann Wagner Judith Ann Wagner 1947-2020 CADILLAC — Judith Ann Wagner passed away May 22, 2020 from complications due to Lewy body dementia at the age of 73. She was born on January 27, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to parents, Dorothy and Orin Tresness. She spent many fun days with her family at their cottage built by her father on Boblo Island. Judy earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern University. She married her husband, John on June 24, 1967 in Grosse Ile, Michigan. She taught elementary education at Westwood Schools until her retirement in 2000 when they moved to Cadillac, Michigan. Her love of children extended way beyond the classroom. In order to encourage trick or treaters to visit her house, she came up with a special Halloween tradition and became known as the “Meauwataka Cookie Lady‘. She also loved animals and always made sure her birds were well fed. She even once had a pet squirrel! If you didn’t find Judy in the kitchen baking one of her pies, then you would find her outside weeding her beautiful flower beds. She was a skilled seamstress sewing her daughter’s wedding dress and many other outfits. She never let this disease stop her as she always wanted to get out of the house and loved to do jazzercise with her great group of gals both in Cadillac and Arizona. Judy is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Kate (Tristahn) Schaub of Phoenix, AZ; special nephews, Russell Deline of Ecorse, Michigan, Scott (Lilith) Mist of Portland, OR, and Kevin (Eileen) Mist of Cadillac, MI. She was overjoyed when her only grandchild, Graham Schaub, was born. She was also a very special aunt to Joel, Lauren, Archer, and Lucian Mist. Judy shared her enthusiasm and knowledge with the children, always being their biggest cheerleader and rejoicing in all of their accomplishments. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Cheryl. We will forever miss her beautiful smile. The family would like to thank her caregivers here and in Arizona, Jan Ensor and Lissette Fetters for the loving attention they gave her. Thanks also to the staff at Curry House and Munson Hospice for the care they gave her in her final days. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to Wexford County Shelter Shares, to help local animals in need at www.wexfordanimalsheltershares.com or mailed to 1147 S. 37 Road Cadillac Michigan. https://www.cadillacnews.com/obituaries/judith-ann-wagner/article_bf768093-da19-53c1-b161-cd48dbed89d6.html |

Kathy was born in Eau Claire, WI to Camilla (Hansen) and John Mathiesen on July 28, 1940. She attended primary schools in Chetek, Eau Claire, and Milwaukee. She graduated from Milwaukee Washington High School in 1958 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Education in June, 1962. She was the Director of Volunteer and Guest Services at Methodist and then Meriter Hospitals in Madison. She retired from teaching at La Follette High School in 2003. Her Waterford bike was a partner in many adventures on the country roads of Wisconsin and numerous other states. She loved to swim, read, hike, yoga, and was a bocce ball medalist in the Senior Games in Green Valley and Tucson, Arizona. Kathy is survived by her beloved family and friends, and her bike, yoga, and bocce friends will also miss her. Very special thanks to the care team at Our House and to the Heartland Hospice Services of Eau Claire staff, especially Cheryl and Laurel, for their care and compassion for Kathy. Kathy was an advocate of green burial and her wish will be honored at a private gathering of family and friends. A gift in her memory to the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute (www.wai.wisc.edu/give) will help to end this brutal disease. 228 | Obitary Kenna Larue Prestwich Kenna Larue Jensen Prestwich returned to her heavenly home on October 9, 2015 after a twelve-year battle fighting the devastating disease of dementia. She died in her own home surrounded by her caretakers, her daughters. She was born September 30, 1930 to Calvin Christian Jensen and Edith Osborne. Kenna married the love of her life, Morris Keith Prestwich, on October 29, 1949. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with four children: Dennis (Cheri), Marjean (Jerry Sorensen), Craig (Raquel), and Ellen (Joel Knighton). Kenna grew up in the small town of Clawson in Emery County. At the age of eighteen, she and her mother boarded a bus and headed to San Francisco to attend dental assistant school. This must have been an adventure for a small farm girl living in San Francisco. This experience became one of the last memories to leave her. She enjoyed many years working in the dental field. Kenna's greatest joy and most prized possession was her family which includes twenty-one grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, with two more on the way, and four great-great-grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren have a lot of great memories of Christmas Eves, family fun at the cabin, sleepovers and parties with grandma, and family dinners in her home. She had a strong work ethic and passed that on to her children. She opened her doors to many nieces and nephews who spent time on the farm in Mapleton. She loved keeping beautiful flower gardens, reading books, traveling, and journaling the important events in her life. She was proud of her heritage and had a great love for antiques. She had a beautiful alto voice and did a lot of singing. She was a loyal friend to many, including her beloved childhood friend, Val Jean "Curley" Curtis. Kenna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served willingly and lovingly in many different church callings. However, serving in the Jordan River Temple was her favorite. The temple brought a lot of peace into her life and she loved the years she was able to spend serving within its walls. Among her loved ones that greeted her on the other side was her husband, Keith, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was also greeted by her family, which included her mother and father, Calvin and Edith; her sister, LaVer Nielsen; and her brothers, Don, Max, and Coy Jensen. Being the baby of her family and the last one to leave this earth made it a joyous reunion. She was also preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Adam Gabriel Prestwich and Calvin Josiah Prestwich, whom she will now have the chance to know and love. At mom's request, a private family viewing will take place prior to the services. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sky Drive LDS Church Building, 4147 West Sky Drive (9800 South), South Jordan. Immediately following the funeral, a luncheon will be held for the family at the church. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem. 238 | Obituary Jim was born April 16, 1933, in Cornell, WI, to James S. and Nadine (née Colburn) Robinson. In 1939, the family moved to Heafford Junction, WI, where Jim's parents built Robinson's Texaco station and resort just off of old U.S. Highway 51 on the shores of Lake Nokomis. Jim attended a one-room schoolhouse through eighth grade and then moved on to Tomahawk High School, graduating in 1951. After working odd jobs for a year, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, returning home on leave after basic and technical training (aircraft maintenance) to marry his high school sweetheart, Betty Hansen, in 1953.
